Tha Dogman and Ross Clarke Jones were the main competitors!
They were informally competing at who can throw the biggest buckets of water!
Fine efforts from both of them!

Dogman, you got a few nice ones today too!
Buckets thrown, and some buckets of rain at times! Plus sun in other times...

Later on, Dogman & I were viewing the action in the Surftech Truck... and at 1-ish, a "white squall" passed by off the coast. Awesome to see. Very fun waves today, 4 seasons in 1 day.

(Ross was out again today too.)

Apologies for no footage of RCJ, he was surfing well but the Bowl is not where he does his best work.
Which to witness is nothing short of unbelievable.
RCJ fans will have to wait for the release of Mad Wax 3.

Here's my lame attempt at humour and some Sarge's scrapbook type comedy relief.

'I've just gotta get used to surfing with my whole body numb' Great Boss Dog. Did you let 'Tha Dogman sniff your butt' showing you the respect you canines deserve!!! Awesome Video, very funny and and shows some of the difficulty's in surfing Victoria during Winter. Has anyone shown "Tha Dogman" Cathedral Rock???

Don't you have longboarders up your way?
No shortage of 'em down in this neck of the woods.
Some of them can surf but unfortunately the kooks in this vid are pretty typical of the majority
Worst of all is they are all grumpy old buggers that think they own the joint

I thought that was what the paddle was for? To hit the cranky old seahunts It's Bells for Christsakes. There's usually 40 Japanese tourists sitting out there first time on a surfboard taking photos of each other. That is why I said 'Have you shown him Cathedral Rock?' Twice the wave at a quarter the crowd. If you can surf, you won't mysteriously disappear and your car get torched. 'Tha Dogman' would think his back at Angourie. If you squint a little, turn around and shut your eyes and think of Yamba it looks a bit like a right version of 'Spookys'!

Thx for filming me Robdog.. He spent a lot of time waiting for me to get a wave as it was really inconsistent and I was grovelling the scrappy small waves mostly... Yesterday the wind was nuts and I could hardly catch a wave as I was going backward trying to paddle into the swell. Today was less that 1/4 the size of yesterday but I surfed winki with Tom Carroll and 40 other crew. Yewwwww frothing...

Happy to film Rog. I'm out of the water with sore ribs thanks to a wipeout at Bells on the weekend.

Victoria is hard work when crowded, three wave sets, long lulls, 40 + guys out, makes it hard to get waves at the well known breaks like Winky and Bells.

Compare that to a northern NSW/Qld point break with an easterly swell of wave after wave after wave.
I guess breaks like Snapper have crowds of 150 + which is often going to negate that advantage.

Patience, sharing, give a wave, share a wave, surf the less well known spots in less than ideal conditions and cherish the days you ace it with perfect uncrowded surf. Above all else, have fun.

Was Tom on a SUP?
