Hi Legends, looking for some booty's for Winter, the water doesnt get really cold down here but wind and air temp can make the feet go a bit numb. Had a pair of Ocean & Earth for years that were good but keen to see what everyone else uses? Looking for some that don't fill with heaps of water if that makes sense?

Hi Souwester,

I have used a few brands and the best by far are Solite 3mm with a solite neoprene booster sock. Both are split toe but the boot is only split on the inside. They are as close to bare foot as I have found and for sup surfing even in the winter here on the north west Pacific coast at near 0 Celsius are warm enough. You heat them up with boiling water and then mould them to your foot.

Cheers

Bob

Dive shops sell a very light weight inexpensive NZ $25 fabric top rubber sole shoe by Head. They stay on reasonably and give very good feel on the board surface. Warm enough as most of the time your feet are out of the water. Saves shell cuts and enough toe protection to kick into footstraps (I windsurf too). Best things are they don't generate between toe blisters and you dont have to sit down to wrestle them off and on.
