its Jacquard powdered pigment for the black.I made these grooves with a bunch of cutting discs on a shaft running over a guide for the wood to be fed down.
done a surfboard before cutting the grooves with a set of nails resined into a block and run down the wood which is held in place in the guide, they look more like the Sunova ones as the groove comes to a point instead of being the same width all the way through like the ones in the pic
