So I've just built myself a pulley system for my boards to raise them to the roof as I have too many other toys and need the space for more.
It works great with one board but with 2 on the frame its a struggle and it really shouldn't be.

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

I have single pulleys on the frame and roof, double where the 4 lines join to 1.

I'm not sure if its a pulley friction problem or bad setup , only thing I was thinking of was move the doubles over to reduce angles and maybe doubles on the the frame and roof but for the weight they shouldn't be necessary.

Hey Skimnur....my guess is the angles are the main cause of the problems....
maybe a better idea would be to hinge the rack on the left hand side and raise and lower it on the right (looking at the photo)......also it looks like you have an asbestos roof which is not looking too flash....looks powdery...

you could run a line from a fixed point through a pulley where you split off to two lines to gain some mechanical advantage

Thanks for the advice i have re-routed the lines and added the extra pully, raises the 2 boards up now. Takes more force then i think it should but it will have to do.

Yes bigger shed is high on the list rick get rid of the old asbestos one when i can.
