Hi All,
Looking for a good beginner board for 115kg male and family friendly as well... I have done some windsurfing & surfing in younger years
Thinking 10.6 x 33-34 x 6 and up too 300 litres?
Can anyone recommend a good brand and happy to spend up to $1000
Thanks you ideas and help

Hi Dave, I started out earlier this year with a Hobie heritage 10'6 x 33.5 and found it a great board to begin with. Surfs small waves well and all of my family have a blast on the flat water too.

Should be close to your price range, I got mine a brother-in-law rates.

Hi Dave,
Where do you plan to use the board? Eg surf, inland?
If you want to surf it, then get a hard board, or if you want to use it in windy conditions then hardboard is better too as they sit much lower in the water and don't get blown around as much.

Inflatables are good for families as they are soft and don't get damaged easily (assuming a good quality one). Eg when paddles hit the edge or when they are placed on hard ground such as car park. With a hard board you have to take much greater care of it.

Good luck, Baz

Hard all the way. Spend your grand on a really good secondhand board not an eBay or BCF thing.
