I've picked up a second hand Naish Glide 12'6", it has a nice factory decal finish but has some chipped top layer on the edges probably from being tied down on a roof rack. The layer chipped away is no more than 1mm and there is a solid layer underneath. I don't know much about the structure of these (or fiberglass in general) but should these be sealed up in a hurry? How would I do that for such small chips? They certainly aren't chunks missing and the underneath layer doesn't feel deep or rough, it feels like it could be the finish underneath the factory decal layer?

New members can't add photos so I may have time wait until I can before I get a concrete answer but appreciate any advice if anyone knows anything!

If it has a crack it will leak and should be repaired. Lots of you tube videos on repairing. Mix two part epoxy and tape some plastic over to keep the epoxy flat. Peel the plastic off after it dries and you don't really need to sand it

Its just topcoat. Under that is primer, under that filler then the glass.

If you're really worried they might leak then a dab of UV cure resin would be $20 and 5mins.

If you want it perfect go to MOzCustoms and it will look new.

Beware, a lot of production boards can have pinholes that the paint makes waterproof.
