Recently ordered an Atlantis board with a goretex valve. I see their care manual states that the valve needs to be replaced every 6 months. Sounds a bit like over kill to me and something that could be unnecessary costs. Does any one change their valves every 6 months and if not how often? Cheers

I know nobody that changes them. Just rinse it with clear water - without unscrewing it! - from time to time to avoid salt and sand gathering in it.

I hope it is not some legalese pretext to reject warranty claims.

I've had a Vex since 09/2016 and have never touched the valve, no issues with the valve.
