"Lost in the Ether" is a very good watch. Has a great section discussing the "MP Board", with Michael also putting in his 2 bobs worth.

Might have to get a copy of this one. I enjoyed Litmus and Glass Love heaps so this one could be a winner also.

Hey Simondo, what's your favourite surf vid?

Possibly "The Drifter" with Rob Macado. It seems to have had a decent budget to make it, with Hollywood Movie Long List Credits at the end (which is not necessarily a good thing though).... It really wouldn't have been as free and easy as the film makes you believe... but it has a nice little story line, and there's some quality lefts in it (even though I prefer rights!). But I can spin it around in my mind, and think Rights !!

Litmus, Glass Love... But the Golden Era stuff was great.... the corny lines on Endless Summer, Inner Most Limits, Pacific Vibrations, and of course Crystal Voyager. Bali High, Tubular Swells...

PS - Tonight's Sunset Paddle at Geelong Marina (Royal Geelong) was sensational!

And how sacrilege, I left out "Morning of the Earth" from the above !!

CMC, this movie has a focus on shapers, and surfer shapers. Right up your alley !! So I would say it is an absolute must get for you.... The more I think about the chapter dedicated to the MP Cutback Board, the more it blows me away. This will also be a very easy movie to re-watch (every so often).

Yep, you got me. I might try to find it today.

The Drifter: I thought his barrel riding was amazing, the concept of Rob travelling and staying in tents and not just sitting in his luxury Villa in Canngu watching the net for swell before heading off kind of lost me though. Very well produced, amazing surfing though, definitely worth a couple of thousand watches..

My favourite would have to be the vids that take me back to great times. Surf into Summer was the theme of when I was 12 in the days when I got up at dawn and got home at dusk surfing the Goldy Points and beaches fuelled by Milk, Paddle Pops, Chicken Lites and Chip Sangas.

Filthy Habits, Green Iguana, Morning of the Earth, Storm Riders, Momentum 1 and 2, I liked most of Justin Ganes movies as well, particularly for the Music. I become de-sensitised to surf vids after 8 years of surf retail and having them on all day every day. It has to be a good one for me to bother these days. Thicker than Water, Shelter and September Sessions were also good. I have about 1000 of them on VHS and DVD at home.....

FYI, the $10 shipping of the "Lost in Ether" DVD is also for worldwide shipping. I ordered my copy to be delivered in France, after asking Andrew who answered:

Hi Colas, thanks for your note, $10 shipping is for international as well.
Cheers Andrew

"Dogs Run Free" is a classic too. It's attached to "Searching for Michael Peterson"

Early 1970's Gold Coast.
