Cool. Nice to see that Naish listens to its loyal devotees! Looks like they added a bit of volume to all Maliko sizes too. Any thoughts on how they have tweaked the shape DJ?

Thanks for the comments.. It's great to see more and more people getting into downwinders..

t's a very different board to last years 24 and 26" wide boards..

It's much stronger and heaps stiffer.. thicker and wider in the tail..

The nose shape has changed the most and being pointier (side view) it now doesn't mind poking it's nose under..

There is now a chime (chamfer) under the nose and along the rails.. The v under the nose is gone and replaced with much roundered v or belly..

The big single concave under the center is now a more double concave and with slightly more v ahead of the finbox it turns better when surfing a runner..

I really like it.. Very stable.. Very fast and it stays gliding when most boards would have stopped.. The fin is also a big improvement..

Thanks DJ! Finally something from Naish that I'm excited about.. (Still have my 2012 Glide 14). Do you think the extra volume added will improve the 26" version as well?

Thats what I'm thinking too... . Check out this pic I found on FB, Bernd and Chuck at Hood River. Chucks Maliko looks twice as thick as Bernd's! (A 28" or perhaps a custom super high volume???)

@DJ, you mean the elite carbon is lesser prone to damages?

Yes.. It's not quite as light as last years LE boards but it's a hell of a lot stiffer and stronger.. and much more durable.. I like it.. My 14 x28 Maliko Jav is around the 10-11kg mark..

Big fin improvement!

28 wide option. Looks like a super stable super easy board to paddle. Perfect for a large market of people wanting to get into down winding that want something they will feel very comfortable out in an ocean.

Nice DJ.
Best Down wind board you have had to date?
