very nice, giz
see them often here on ne us coast, usually just outside the lineup
once saw a big pod inside, and that was a bit weird
much as enjoy seeing them, and that i could easily paddle directly to them, i keep my distance
i figure, if they thought i was a threat, they could put an end to me quite quickly

That's cool! Out there with your best friend, perfect conditions, and a pod of dolphins. It doesn't get too much better!!

These ones had already eaten heaps of fish.....and were kind of "off duty". Another pod came in close this morning at town beach surf break and went along to waikanae......but were on a mission. Had no time for sup surfers. Actually some surf today. Everyone surf hungry. I exited the surf when dropped in on by two other sup people at the same time :)

Have met dolphins when out in choppier more stressful conditions and have been towing fishing lures. They have come close......but no bumping. And happily too intelligent to bite on a steel hook joined up to some bit of plastic pretending to look like a fish :)
