Hi mate I have a 9x32 Mad Dog and I really enjoy it. It surfs like a much smaller board, and fits into hollow waves well. I have been running mine as a thruster and like that using an fcs 2 centre fin you can move it around out in the surf to suit the conditions. Once the waves get a little larger and have some power I find the tail a little wide, but that's a trade off of the stability it gives you on bumpy days. A great board that you should feel right at home on, hope that helps.
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. I'm a tall guy so do find the 9ft Hokua just a perfect size.
I've also mostly used a thruster fin setup and just move the middle fin to get a looser tail where needed. If I get the new 2022 Mad Dog quad I will probably just use that, but will keep your feedback in mind.
