The open men, women and age divisions of the Qld SUP surfing titles should be posted here soon, could be a couple of weeks. There is some cool stuff across all divisions, great job Bruce......we eagerly await the next instalment..

Thanks for the clip. Some 'real' nose rides there. I wonder what board the guy that got the 10 over was on?

I love the video. Does anyone know the specs and fin set-ups on the boards?

I was on the green nose blue tail board and it is 10.1 x 28.5 x 3 7/8...using 2 n 1 setup 6.5" centre n s9 sides... The blue nose green tail deep is the same board as mine...not 100% sure on others but most looked similar apart from Jacksons that was a fair bit smaller 25ish wide from memory....

4 of the competitors were riding custom DEEP 10 footers, 3 of them were around 120L and about 10.1x28.5x3&7/8 with Jackson's board coming in at 106L and 10.1x25x3&7/8. Fin set ups are 2+1 with fronts ranging from Shapers S9 to S5 and rear box fin ranging from 6.5"-8" with Jackson using his signature series fins as thruster.

I really like this video and the spirit of this kind of competition... but go 9+ instead of 10+ or maybe everyone has to go 25" wide like Jackson to make real noserides and real longboarding. I know Jackson is a champion but I am sure that the other competitors could surf a lot better and with more style with shorter longboard style board or at least narrower.

Yes I know what you mean with the drop down in width, there is a mountain of difference from the 28 wide to the 25 or 26 inch wide boards as well as the change in the volume of boards. 10ft is the size but with the drop in width comes the question of stability, but that is something you get use to if performance is the key....
It was only a few years ago that the most narrow board around in that sort of length was 30-32 inch so with the likes of Jackson's input and evolution of designs together with a few other local makers getting on board, the "performance"is being put into that category now.
Look up the Longboard sup Revolution on FB if you want to get in amongst the 10ft action..
