What style of fin are you using Lacey? Stock, or other?
What is stock on this beast!?
hi, i was using the stock spitfire, but have a hate/love relationship with them - mostly hate now that i think about it.
am now using a jm 'glass' fin just a wee bit back from centre. the fin box is a fair way back which is usual for 'flatter tailed rockered boards. the natural rake of the hatchet is there too
found that fin faster and more stable. probably due to more tip and less base bulk
simondo, i've paddled borrowed 23.'5 and 25" aces in the creek. half wind bumps with the crap weather we've been having. the aces work on a wide ish nose and volume- very good boards but the most argued about ever. the x 12 works on a wide almost lb nose with a blunt dishy nose and a reasonable amount of volume.
to be honest i'm more interested in the way the x 12 goes even if its a production board of average weight. the added bonus being the nose width without seemingly being a problem for riding bumps. that added bonus being the self righting wide nose- ie go into a trough on the rail and the nose just bumps and skips it straight again.
not planing any more boards other than this one and my lh 14'. however mid year or so i would love to try a custom 14' version of this board
cheers
