Hi all. Are the sunny king paddles any good. they seem quite cheap for a carbon paddle. I like a stiff paddle for downwinding and have broken several. Advise would be great.
cheers mat

Yeah two indirect experiences through mates.
1 bought a paddle, last about 3 weeks (used it 4 times) and it snapped, my mate approached Nick King (not for a refund but to understand if this was common) and the reaction he got from the bloke was bang out of line. So my mate swore never to use any of his stuff again

the other bloke I have known for years but dont see very often now, he lives up the coast from me and recently we randomly caught up. Chatting away and I mentioned how some suppliers provide excellent pre and post sales support and others take your money and dont want to hear about any issues. I told him about Sonny King (Nick King runs it) and he told me about a board he had bought.
Plain and simple the construction wasn't of a reasonable standard, he was disappointed with the performance but mainly the contraction was not quality. Great paint job - lipstick on a hog is still a pig, i guess

I'd just say that there are a great number of other niche players out there, and you obviously cant go past the majors (especially when you see a sale on...)
