i have one gap with my boards and that a skinny fast bop/ surf 12'6 for nice/glassy/calm conditions.

dale was good enough to have a fiddle with one of the earlier designs. we really messed around with it. its a few ideas that i've had. it's been sitting in file land for a bit. thx's again to dale.

it's certainly not in the dc model range.

boards 25' wide. should be as stable as all hell. just cut tonight. there's a bit to be trimmed of the tail and the bottom rails to tail have to be shaped yet. pretty happy how it came off the cnc

Sorry to hijack, here's the second one too. Board was shaped by Steve Del Rosso (Clearwater Surfboards) & Teena (The Lady Of Many Colours) did the glassing/tint work, she's an absolute master!!!

not sure of the flat water speed- nothing to compare to yet, but it does everything i hoped for- super stable. very hard to tip. loves the paddle out. same standing position as in the flats. through or over waves -whatever, makes no difference. no grabbing and water shears over the nose. standing or kick turning in chop easy. catches waves/bumps early and surfs a treat. was worried about the flat bottom, mid rail hard roll, tail edges catching in cross chop however it's done the opposite. seems to 'square' the board up and this seems to really help for through wave stability and i am getting the full benefit of the 25' width. also a very short displacement rounded nose shape
it was choppy this afternoon i really didn't plan on using it in this type of conditions so i'm really pleased. had a bit of a worrying night about the board, but after a morning and arvo session- lots of fun.

12.6 x 30 pffff I took Lacey's board for a quick paddle a little under in the litres department for my 100 kgs but the board is super fast and even a newbie like me could paddle the 24 wide without too much trouble or an I just a freak

this board is amazing for me. ins and out kept me in touch with the gun crew especially on the bump/wave rides in. the board actually measures after shaping and glassing 24.5 inches and tiny bit

need to name it!!!!!!

Mate, looks sharp and fast so I would call it the "Green Arrow"!

Something about the colour combo plus the deckpad reminded me of Thomas the Tank and friends (yes I do have a 3 yr old son) so I googled and up popped this random YouTube movie:

Yea mate been hiding under a rock over winter with the weather we've had over here, has taken a bit to get used to it but all good. Definitely a different world from Currumbin.
Good to see you're still making the most of your board quiver.
Give u a yell if I come back especially if I get time for a wave or DWer.
Hear you got yourself a LB too...

PS. tomy12'6...classic!

i'm happy as with the board for ins and outs, and surfs the best i've been on.

i did a dw run yesterday with a cutaway 9" dolphin fins. conditions up to 15 knts, east swell/choppy/bumpy which isn't the best. flippin flies and while i didn't fall off its a bit of work at that width-24.5". elite level bump runner and something the guns and racers would love but unless its all behind me and the board, its too much work for me comparing to say my gl 12'6. the gl has handled for me anything from lets go anyway 10 knts and a bit runs to 25 knts and blasting

i guess any board at 24.5 inches or less is going to be a work out especially in the 12'6 class

today i gave it another hit with laird hamilton wide base 9" fin. noticed it was stiffer to turn and didn't bump run as quick so back in the the cutaway dolphin fin.

took it out for a couple of waves later to get the feel in the difference-hunts the waves and bumps so much better with the cutaway fin.

i've tried and owned a lot of different fins but it's seems to me the a 9" dolphin cutaway gives the best speed, enough length in the water board control and 'turnability'

cheers
