Hi, ive got a lump about 100mm x 50mm on the front underside of my sup. Does anyone know what caused it or how to fix? Cheers

Thats a delamination.

Most probably, the bond between the glass and the foam was weak there (factory defect), and some air pressure (board in the sun) separated the glass from the foam.

It is easy to fix:
- tape the area so that spilled resin wont glue to the board. Transparent tape is better to see what you are doing.
- get some syringe, without a needle
- drill 2 holes of the size of the end of the nozzle, at both ends of the lump
- inject resin from one hole till it gets out of the other. I use resin + microspheres to reduce the weight and reduce the risk of overheating. Some people use various kind of glues (gorilla glue?). But do not use glue that must dry in the air, of course.
- push the lump flat: eg a wooden plank on it + weights. wipe the excess resin. Let cure
- remove the tape, cut the resin flat at the holes, sand them a bit if needed

As Cola says, sounds like heat damage. If the glass is stretched and their is a little air pocket underneath it's the foam releasing pentane gas as a thermal reaction, referred to as a delam.

Since it's a small area, you can "drill and syringe" as Cola says, or cut out the affected area and reglass with cloth, carbon or whatever construction your board has.

If your not comfortable fixing yourself (make sure to use Epoxy resin and hardener, not a solacure kit) then a repairer won't charge you much more than a normal ding as the area is rather small.

Just make sure over summer to keep your board in a cool place... No sun baking
