Hi there,
hoping for some suggestions for what might be a good board for a small person - 50kgs. This is for flat or choppy windswept water, not surf (waves make me seasick!).
I currently have a lovely 10.5 foot all rounder - it's nice and light (10.5kg) which means I can get it onto the car roof by myself (this is important), however, being an all rounder, it doesn't track or glide especially well. I am hoping I can find a board that tracks and glides better so I can go a bit faster, and cover more ground, but is still light enough for me to lift easily (i.e. 12kgs or less).
Anyone got any ideas?
I'm a lightweight also at 65kg. And being a windsurfer, when I looked for my first race board I looked at the volume, and a board that sat nice and low to the water (most windsurfers are done by volume).
The boards I went for were about 200L I think.
Went from a 12'6 x 27.75" older Fanatic fly race carbon 10-12kg I think.
and now to a 12'6 x 24 Naish LE, 8-9kg. I do everything on this board: flatwater to downwinder and waves.
You may also want to look at the Starboard 12'6 x 25 all star "Turtle bay" which is lower volume than other all star models.
I haven't looked much on volumes lately but there may be others out there now.
hope that helps. If in doubt try some out and see what you like ;)
