hello Jarryd, I have owned a carbon fanatic 12'6"x 30.5" for 9 months i use the board for fitness & technique training mainly when the the ocean is flat or week ends when the breaks are crowded. the displacement nose planing tail design is widely used these days, the board slices through the water like a hot knife through butter, it has a low side profile so it is not affected by crosswinds, paddling into the wind is also relatively easy it's only the size of the engine on top that causes the wind resistance. but as for downwind, you would realize it is not a true "downwinder" type board, however if you are quick on your feet and prepared to move forward and aft as the need arises to keep the board from nose diving on the bigger swells you will be sweet. i have also cracked a couple waves up to 3' in height no problem, just step way back on the tail and keep that nice displacement nose clear of the water. it will easily take your weight, one of my paddling mates also has this board he has the same dimensions as you. the build quality is immaculate and we have no under foot depression. i highly recommend this board to you.
