im 106 kg and i find the 9.6 allwave to be super stable and bouyant. havent tried the 9.10 but unless your over 120kg then you probably dont need it. The 9.6 surfs well with the centre fin pushed forward. takes of easily and is relatively quick. the 9.2 all wave is looser again and that still easily floats my lard arse no problems at all. demo them, they're great boards but unless youre well over the 120 kg mark id suggest the 9.6.

I've got the 9'10 Allwave, I'm a true OFB at 125kegs and it feels just right. At your puny 105 ( ) you should try the 9'6 version, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Over on the 'zone, JimK and Supthecreek are the authorities on the big boy Allwaves, they are nice blokes, accomplished surfers and generally happy to answer PMs with specific questions.

thanks, there is a couple of reasons why im thinking 9.10
it will be a second board for paddling with the dogs and messy surf and i had the 9.2 and found it ok stability wise but in messy surf hard going.

Hmm if you're thinking about a second board for carrying a dog maybe something longer like an 11 or 11'6 fanatic allround, one of the NSPs in that size range or maybe even a super stable cruiser like starboard atlas? still surf OK in small-med messy stuff (to a point) but more glide and better carrying capacity (I suppose this depends on the size of the dog...)
