this is a cool topic as I was just thinking the same thing.
i currently have a 7'2 x 28 x 105l hypernut, a 8'3 x 28.5 x 105l jimmy lewis supertech and a 8'4 x 28 x 101l blue plant ninja star.
although all quite similar dimensions and volumes, they are all soo different!
id have to rate the hypernut as the most stable, which I previously thought was the supertech. The super thin rails of the tail in the ninja star make it seem more like a 90l board that is quite twitchy.
on a wave- again all 3 are very different. The hypernut picks up anything, but paddles slow and needs to be in the pocket. Despite the short length, it feels longer and doesn't carve or rip like I could do on longer and wider boards.
the supertech is that perfect middle ground, a touch more twitchy than the hypernut but paddles faster. Goes on rail easier and handles bigger and more hollow waves. It's got good rocker but doesn't feel that way in the water.
the ninja star is different again. It's twitchy to paddle and not as fast as the supertech. It has flatter rocker than the supertech so despite the more narrow rails and rounded pin, it doesn't turn as tight or hack back up to the lip like the super tech but does go on rail quick.
its got a more of a stable feel on the wave and when it's hollow, I've never felt a board that's so glued in to the wave and hold a tight line. big down the line waves are the home for this one, although can still grovel but not with the agility of the other two.
