Hi all looking at purchasing Naish Nalu was told today that performance wise there's not much difference between a GS Nalu and the GTW the bloke in the shop also said he doesn't stock the GT as most just buy the GS?
Noted that the GTW only real difference is it's light to get off the top of your car and carry but that's about it love to hear from anyone that owns one of these boards

Thanks

The GT and GTW have an M8 plug for a windsurf rig - if that's a thing for you...
(prob not a thing for most folks)

GTW vs GS;

- thruster vs single
- diamond deck grip vs smooth deck grip
- glossy finish vs matt finish
- 10.15kg vs 11.5kg (just weighted them now)
- windsurfing mount vs no mount

Generally people who surf buy the GTW, people who just want to cruise on flatwater and save money buy the GS.

IMO the GTW is worth getting if you can afford to pay the extra.. It's a much classier looking board being full gloss and if surfing the diamond deck grip is noticeably better.. I also prefer the tracking and drive when surfing that I get with the extra side fins.. and when a used mine as a single fin I felt it needed a slightly bigger fin than the stock one..

Hi scotchman..we have the 11'&11.4 GT nalu's ..we surf them alot ..and they are best in my opinion surfed as tri fins ,you can ride higher on the face of the wave ..notice all surfing SUPS have three fins .

The new wood this year looks unreal ..a friend of mine just got one ...I wish they had wood last year .. When I brought .

i would say the three fin option is the biggest factor....to me ...
the gloss is easy to keep clean ..and they polish up beautiful ..
yep I polish .

Tardy stability wise is there much difference between the 11' and 11'4? The reason I ask I am thinking of changing my 10' Mana for a Nalu. I am doing more flat water paddling than I thought I was going to but still like to ride waves - about 50/50 I guess. I have a buggered right knee so stability is important. I like the Mana but thought the Nalu would be a little better on flat water, don't tend to ride anything much more than over head any more. I'm 63 and 104kg. Cheers Charlie

Hi Charlie .the 11' is more stable @ 31 wide .also surfs a bit better ..not as gunny ..the 11.4 glides better ....it paddles faster .
but jumping off one to another you can notice the difference in width straight away.
check out some pics on last years post I put up of the two side by side .

its a pity you have to get rid of the 10' mana ..having both would give you a good quiver .

but if your just having the 1.... go the 11'...it is better in flat than the 10'
and it surf pretty good too.

i use a 6.5 rear fin on the 11' rather than the 9' supplied ..

Cheers Tardy, our car is always pretty loaded up when we go away with bikes and SUPs and fishing gear. I also have a fly rod acquisition habit so it's only a one board quiver I'm afraid However I can alway's grab my wife's 9'5 Mana if the surf gets a a bit interesting she likes her boogie board at that stage Sounds like I better make a trip to Auckland to demo the Nalu.
