Bob in the last post on the minion thread had a great idea so I'm starting this post. .for those of us wanting one of these babies but are unable to demo..
To get an idea of board size can you please post info on dimensions of previous traditional sup to what you got in a minion in relation to your height and weight. I'm 6ft 94kgs and on a fanatic prowave 8'10 119L.
Appreciate that it will also depend on skill level, conditions but I'm sure would be helpful none the less
Please add any other relevant points

Hi Supmaori

I'm 6'2" around 90 kg.

Minion - 7'8" x 28 1/4 x 4 1/4 @115 litres. pinstriped inegra with standard supplied fins.

Previous board - Deep 8'6" x 31" x 4 3/8 @120 litres.

Struggled for a week to gain comfortable stability, now very comfortable in most conditions.

6'4" and 85kg, got onto minion from 8'5"x29" starby carbon 106litres, also ride 710x31.5 airborn carbon 98litres.
minion is same as good dr but 110litres and too big now after 2 months. Was no issue to hop on first time. Would go much smaller for next one to about 100litres foam and 7'5"x27 7/8" x3 7/8" or thereabouts. And pay someone to do a fancy deckgrip for me......

The good Dr..in hindsight would you have gone to maybe the 7'4 104L minion or is the 7'8 spot on for you?

5"10 and 78kgs

The minion I ride is

7' x 26 1/4 x 4 1/2 @95L

I would not go any shorter but could probably go narrower in glassy conditions. I am toying with the idea of a 7'4 x 25 x 4 1/2.

Long legs, high centre gravity, very happy with my choice. Recently demoed 7'10", loose enough with bit more stability.

6'2" around 90-95kgs (highly variable)
Minion 7'10" x 29' and 119L. stock fins.
Pretty comfortable in a reasonable time on this board, and I am not wanting to go smaller yet. Very fast and manoeuvrable and fun for me at this size. Am able to ride in pretty rough conditions.
Previous board 8-10 x 31 134L
my current regular dimensions board 8-8 x 31 at 119L slightly more stable than minion for me.

6"1 93 kilo riding a Minion 7'10 x 29 x 4/3 16", 115 litres. Came off a 8"2 SB carbon wide point 121 litres. Board felt a little stiff at first so took out the nubster and also changed the fins to my C Drive medium quads and it feels a lot better. At first it felt tighter than the carbon SB but Im getting used to that and surf it a little different. Now Im starting to really like it better each time out. It is stable and catches waves easily and has good speed down the line. Im thinking for the future I could cut down the litres to around 110 ish.....

After a lot of ummm'ing a and aaaaah'ing and a few chats with Simon, Mags, Tang and Chris Clarke I put my order in some weeks ago now. Expecting a 7'4" x 27 1/2 @ 104 litres minion to be heading south very early October (I hope my board has come out of the shaping bay, Simon) with a couple of other minions coming to Vic at the same time. Very keen to try it out in some East Coast/Phillip Island Vicco waves. Also, I have 2 week trip to the wilds of south west coast SA planned in early December, so looking forward to getting the minion out amongst the great whites then, too.

Previous boards (when I was at 89 kegs) have been 9'0" and 8'5" Naish Hokua, current board is 8'6" JP Pro (and still interested in trying the new 2015 model, which appears to have been revved up a bit). Have tried or ridden a variety of boards in the last 12 months including - 7'10" Airborne, 7'10" Naish X32, 8' 2" DC, 8' 2" JP. I think the best of that lot was the DC.

I've cut out the chocolate, liquorice and beer (I'm on the red wine diet, instead, lol) and am now down to a constant 75kg, so interested to see whether I have gone too big, but not having demo'd the board, like others, its difficult to know where to start with these boards.

I will report back in due course.

Previous Standard:
Deep 8'4"
Volume: 96.5L
Width: 28
Thick: 3.75

Current Standard (but a little neglected):
Deep 8'0"
Volume: 91.0L
Width: 27.5
Thick: 3.75

Current Minion:
Deep 7'2"
Volume: 92.4L
Width: 26 7/8
Thick: 3 15/16

I'm 5'11" and 87kg. The Minion was easy to balance on from day one - but I was well trained with my 91L 8'0".

Hey guys love the posts and the info being supplied for these boards. I know a few of you guys have touch on this before in other posts. But i was wondering what are some of the weights of your boards. Do you find them Light? Heavier or about the same as a normal production board of the same volume? cheers in advance

Haven't weighed mine but it's light.
Others who pick it up are always surprised by its weight.
