Im in the market for my first board, I live in a regional area (Albany) so I'm not able to demo boards. I'm 180cm 78-82kg and after a all round board, flat water paddling/touring and I'd like to progress into wave riding and maybe do some fishing. I have had my eye on the 2015 naish nalu gts, intrigued by the fact they can take a sail.

the range appears quite different, especially the 10'10 board
which board would give me the best blend of flatwater glide & stability while still being a reasonable surfer?

The new Naish 10'6'' Nalu is the better board IMO

I had the 2014 model.. It's an awesome board..

Go the 10'6" if you're set on naish. I've had a 10'10" and although it will surf a decent size wave, the channels make it a pretty straight shooter. Great for flat water though; you can put the whole family on it! [8D

wish I had the resources available to try a few boards out, I probably can't get up to perth for at least a few weeks and I'm dying to get out on the water. Im definitely not set on naish, probably just biased as I've read good things and watched DJs videos :)

I am probably leaning toward flatwater performance
would the 10'10 be too much board for me at 80kg? sounds like a bit of boat but has lugs for carrying gear which appeals
how do the 10'6 and 11 compare? (against each other)
