hi

I need some advice, as I live in a remote town I can't try any board.
I am 63kg and 168cm, at the moment I'm planing to do 60% cruising and 40% surfing
What board do you think would suit me the best between the - Fone MANAWA 8'6 or 9'
- Fanatic allwave 8'6 or 8'10
- Starboard WIDE POINT 8'10
thank you

Hi Nico. at ur weight, u could easily ride an 8'6 of the types u noted, and they r all good boards..... the 2014 8'5 mana looks awesome too. but if ur doing 60% cruising a board that short will give u a few paddles each side as they track very well. maybe look at a thin less volumous board but in the 8'10 -9'0 range that will track better for cruising.

if u were talking just waves.... ur on the right track.

Nico, at your weight and height you could buy a skateboard deck and paddle it! I'm assuming you are not a very experienced surfer, sorry if I'm incorrect. BUY THE 8'6"ALLWAVE they paddle beautifully and surf really well. The other two paddle really well and surf beautifully. The rest of you that are going to post don't!!!! I'm right you are all wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't buy an allwave at that size if you intend to do 60 per cent time cruising/flat water - that's my advice. Yes - you can paddle them fine on the flat but you'll asking yourself why on earth did I get a surfing board for flat water You need an alround shape with less volume.

You are very light so as Skeb says - go for a shape'length that is more suited for what you are after. Not sure what though - you are quite a bit lighter than I am.

I have an 9ft 6 allwave btw - great for surfing but I'd far rather take my longer SUP out for cruising - tracks far better and faster and therefore more fun.

SKM and me must have been writing at the same time. Listen Slab's right if you want to mainly paddle, in saying that however it has been my experience of the last four years you do the most for your balance and fitness if you go a smaller board. It also helps when you're in the surf to be familiar with your board and not have a log to control, particularly at your size. Sorry slab we'll have to agree to disagree. The other thing is the bigger the board the heavier the board. Now don't disagree with me again slab, you know that is frowned upon in a forum!!!!!!
