Hi all,

We're about to design another all-rounder SUP for newbies to intermediate SUPers. Do you have a favourite board shape that you'd like to see more of?

Or is there a feature you'd like to see built?

Just an idea .ben .I know a few newies who have naish Odysseus .I think the volume is a little to much for some people @200 litre ,but the length is good
so maybe 9.8 170-175 litre ..single fin .@33'. What cha think.

I guess having a way to have soft rails could be very beginner-friendly, for the hits with the paddle ... and the body

Combined with a "safe" fin like the protek

Less then 9'8 it can fit in car
Less than 32 wide
Less paint to reduce weight
A nose ride board shape but thicker rails
160 volume

Personally I believe Sunova and Naish have got it almost right with their 9'5 boards but I would to see an allrounder Nalu at 9'8 and 31 wide

Manageability is key . Think about women trying to manage the lifting and storage of a board

Really enjoyed my 9'8" SB Element (2011).
Does everything well, ast construction is pretty heavy out of the water though.

Any stunning blonde that snaps off the lip is a recipe for trouble I reckon.

Probably not a beginners board but a beginner board for surf or smaller person maybe less than 85

I'm thinking 9 6 - 10
28-29 wide
120 - 130 litres
slim build
full nose and tail not quite nose rider though
medium tech build For weight and ease of handling from car to beach or car to garage

i guess like a smaller nalu without the price

What about a 8 - 8-3' foot 31 wide 150-160 litre for small days ...something short to really throw around but volume for big boy s.and beginners ?.

could i I get away with the 9 6 @ 112 litres ? im 80 kg

I'm coming from 10 6 laird, but I still want the long board feel in as short a length as possible if that makes sense

I am not experienced enough but it sounds like a steep drop in litres

If the aim is to make an all rounder for newbies and intermediates I would recommend the 9'5" Starboard wide point.
It is great in the surf and can cruise down a river or on a lake.
