Seeking some advice.

My first and current board is a Red Paddle 10'6 Ride inflatable. 32" wide and 240l. Space was at a premium at the time.

I have had it 18mths and it's been fun including some small surf. I had never surfed before so still got lots to learn.

Now considering whether to get a second, slightly smaller, hard board

I am just under 6ft, 85kg

If so, what would be a sensible step?

Cheers

9.5 - footer. 135 - 160 litre board ...too many to list ..but a good guide line to follow .

have a search in buy and sell....I tend to stick to 2 brands .Naish and Sunova .good quality board that last .

I'll add 32" wide to tardy's advice.
9'5 x 32 should be a good transition for you..... liters can vary, but that surface area will be comfortable, but manageable.

I will guarantee at first you will think what have I done, this board is so hard to ride. But after a couple of sessions you will be thinking this board is fantastic.

Think about out how you would like your sup to progress, Sea, waves, flat water, rivers etc, buy a board to suit your discipline, lots of guys here offering advice.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge.

I am mostly looking to learn and improve on small surf. However it is not easy at Bondi, so busy most of the time, easier in the colder months.

Bondi? I would stick to an inflatable so that you don't kill someone. Or surf at night

A touch harsh, but I understand where you are coming from. I am strictly early morning and not if it is busy, which is why I prefer the cold months. When away on holiday in a quiet place it is heaven.

Yes fully agree . Have not paddle surfed once in Sydney since end December . Only south coast where I paddled everyday and has waves to my own at times even during peak.
City beach breaks too stressful in summer.
