6ft 88kg lookig for a board for the bay as well as small surf.
The wife and kids will want to use occasionally too.

Any advice on board under $1000, $1500 and $2000

I have 4 boards from 3 manufacturers and one of them I have that would fit your needs is the Hobie ATR 11. It's 11'x31.5 " and has enough volume to float you well. I am a little shorter than you and only 3 kgs lighter. I love this board as a great all rounder and my kids love it because it's stable and moves well through the water. Small surf is fun on it. I believe that next years model will be 2" longer and a half inch wider. Retail is $1590 but you might get luckier than that. It is also pretty light at 11 and a half kgs. There are plenty of boards out there that will fit the bill but beware of the limitations of some - particularly weight. When you are stacking a few boards on the roof it means a lot , also when you are getting things moving on the water. www.hobie.com/stand-up-paddleboards/112ATRv3-1-3.aspx

Which bay?

Check out the naish ..GS 9.5 ,10' mana or Odysseus
both surf small waves the mana 163 litre or 190 ...being the more surf orientated .3 fins
odysseus is cheaper but still surfs ok slightly wider .200 litres ....it can carry lots of kids .single fin .

I have been flat water on and off for about 7 years.
I recently started SUPP surfing.
I have one of the old Graffiti 10"6 34inch, found it really easy to get onto waves with but could only straight line it.
I have purchased on of the new Waterborn Evoke 10" 32inch and it has opened up a whole new experience.
I purchased a package including a paddle, leash, bag and rail tape for just over the$1000 mark.
I am 5'11 and 100kgs and find it not only stable but really easy to turn on the wave.
