G'day
Been a Sunny Coast kneelo for almost fifty years but a couple of years ago discovered SUPs. As a result, my kneeboard only gets wet on bigger days when I don't feel confident taking out my SUP.
I'm 6'4", 95kg (210 pounds), 64 years old and good fitness.
Currently I''m on an 11'2" x 34 x 236 litre Fanatic Fly which I paddle 70% on flatwater and 30% in small waves.
Maybe I'm bonkers trying to do this at my age, but I'd like to downsize and spend a lot more time in the waves. I've tried 160 litre 32" boards but they feel too small and tippy for me, especially on bumpy days.
Was thinking 10', something around 180-190 litres, like a 10' Starboard Whopper, 10' Naish Mana, 10'2" Sunova One, or tonight on this forum, discovered the 10' x 35" Sunova Kanga which looks really interesting.
Something that I can paddle and take off in surf stance, cruise and not have to walk the board too much to turn and trim the board if that makes sense.
Any advice from other taller, older, bigger riders?
Cheers
Hi mate
like most things in life, it's the WIDTH that matters
I'm 88kg and using a 9'1 x 32 145 lt and it really stable
it is sooo much fun when on the wave
enjoy
