Just tried to find the Red Thumb profile on the Breeze........maybe I was pushing the wrong buttons......but maybe he has turned into chicken**** and abandoned his red thumb identity. Maybe someone who doesn't drink beer can find his profile on the forum?

Actually rather then going for a paddle, i think you need to see a doctor.Judging by the last 15posts, that you replied to yourself.
You sound like you might be ticking a few of these boxes:

--Replaying or rehearsing conversations out loud- i.e. talking to yourself (very common sign)

Not a joke, i have worked in the mental health sectors and your behavior is worrying.

I agreed Fishbear I have known gizzie for a number of years , the joyrider post is uncalled for, you can't judge a person by his posts in here , and a true Heath Professional would not comment on a forum like this .Some good people have gone from this forum people that have forgotten more than in here most know .
As for your Speeed question I would think you would be real comfortable on an 8'10", I'm on a 9'5" a little heavier than you ,it's super stable

Hi Fishbear im riding the 8-10 and 8.5 speed on better days.Look the speeds are an excellent board imo but they are not for everyone obviously as there are many great boards out there.I have come ,like most on this forum from many years shortboard and more recently longboarding background.I am 57 180 cm and around 85 kegs and the 8.10 at 130 ltrs is really comfortable whilst allowing rapid improvement as you get that back foot back on the pad.The 8.5 offers a big step up in performance at around 115 litres app but in less than perfect conditions ill always go 8.10 and have great fun. I have mates that are plus 100 kegs and they are fine on the 8.10 in better conditions however both own 9.2 speeds as their go to in marginal stuff so dunno if this helps or not but Quality Perfomance and Speed are certainly on offer with this brand.Enjoy

Fishbear - I would echo LucyLoo's comments. I am 6'3" and 95 kg (and 54 yo) and have been supping 3 years. I use my 8'10 when I need stability. I have an 8'8 when the conditions are better, or the 8'7 Flow. The 8'10 is a fun and fast board, and can turn if your foot is back over (or close to) the fins.

Thanks Towball, LucyLoo and CSE. My concern was really stability in chop waiting on the back. I figured the 8'10 would be fine for me on the wave but in wind and chop might see me in with the fishes more than I'd like.

I would suggest that the 8'10 is borderline. If you sup a bit and you have built up pretty good balance and leg strength, then the 8'10 will be good. But I often surf in a spot that always seems to have a lot of water moving around, small waves coming from every direction, and I feel like riding something with a little more stability. I don't fall in that much but when the right waves pops up you want to turn and paddle hard without bobbling and wobbling.

Great that firms it up even more. I usually get on the flat during the week plus some bay chop and when I can I try to relive my youth and kill myself on either the west coast or morn peninsula

Yep! So out at big left it is a bit more challenging, but it is fun on the wave. Inside westernport at pines or zappers or crunchies the 8'10 is absolutely fine, even in 15+ knot onshore. I normally take my 8'7 flow (or 8'8 speed) to westernport unless the conditions are bad.

Have got a woman friend who is featherweight and keen on getting into sup........have given her my SB 10'3 gun to use for a few weeks. Would sell it to her for $350....(she although old is cute and nice personality)
She probably good for the 8'10......but hard to persuade someone to spend mega bucks on a board......only us old crazies would even consider spending that much money on a board ")
