Spent about 4 hours on my 9'6" yesterday, a great reset for work today.
Had the 9.8" nose riding single fin in for 2' to 3' wally beachies (challenging and at times completely out of control, Haha, but lots of fun), and about 1/2 an hour of nice long runners before the tide completely ran out. Could not get off the nose!

This proved to be a great set up for the Steeze on a steeper, more open face.


Tip for new Steezers:
The end result of a late take off on a larger, fuller wave, into a very strong cross shore wind, can be quite the show for onlookers, and is normally a hint to change up to a creek, or something similar.

Now dont get me wrong here im lovin the look of the steeze and if funding was unlimited id have one now but can anyone tell me if they surf their longer speeds like a longboard.I have found the 8.8 and 8.10 speeds to nose ride remarkably well as well as really being able to step it up off the tail as we all know.I have tried the style and it was ok but natuarally couldnt give the all round speed thrills.So my question to those that know is,in light of these points,would i be doubling up by trying to get the Steeze? Ps i need a creek too.

Hi Lucyloo. I guess my end aim has always been to find the ultimate 2 board quiver. To take to my local and to travel with. And that's how I ended up with the Creek and Steeze.
The Steeze is a great nose rider, and turns really well off the tail, but I really need to be in front of the wave. Don't get me wrong, it can be 1 foot dribble, and you can still surf it! As long as you're on your paddle game, and in front, you can surf until you fold. Keep in mind I had 15 litres taken out of mine as well.
The creek is awesome for the bigger stuff, and the more I surf it, the more game I'm getting to drop it off the lip. It turns well off the tail very much like the speed, but not as stable in the chop, although I am finding it better now that I've worked out the sweet spot.
I don't own a speed, although I have surfed a couple. Never really did any nose riding on them. My minion is a similar shape, but so much fun off the tail, the only time I'm on the nose is by accident. And yes, it goes ok.

Hi. I had a few SUP boards in the 8' +/- range the last couple years but got a demo 10'2" Dogman model from DEEP Ocean Boards last fall and it has been a savior in this crappy California winter & Spring we've endured. It really does it all and I get so much more out of my sessions mixing it up with hard turns, noserides and gliding over the flat sections to the inside reforms.

8'10" Creek and 9'6" Steeze. Both easy boards for me at around 100 kegs. If I was to do it again I would probs go the 8'10" Steeze as a fun and stable all rounder. Would have been perfect for this last week of small but fun stuff on Straddie.

looking for a longboard style sup and like the look of the Steeze but not sure if I should be looking at the 8'10 or 9'6.
Is the steeze more stable than the flow as both are similar volume or would the 9'6 be a better option for stability and having fun on smaller days?

I had no trouble on the 8'10 Steeze at 103 kg
It was more like a "ripping short board" for someone my size.

The day I used the 8'10, the waves were small and gutless
The Steeze shape and rocker worked really well in those waves, even though I was at a "weight to volume" ratio of only 1.2

I got my 9'6 Steeze because I wanted a shorter "longboard" that would throw around, but be cruisey at the same time.
For me, the 9'6 is more like a Fun shape.... the 8'10 is more ripper

If you want more stability than your 8'10 Flow in wonky conditions, then go with the 9'6 Steeze

This review has been hijacked by every man and his dog.
Just spent 2 hours on my 9'6" Steeze and only fell off once.
Once unintentionally that is.
I was glad of 2 things:
One being the fact that I got a custom, and lowered the volume whilst leaving the outline alone. Such a stable yet fun board.
And two, that I didn't have an 8'10" today, because even though it was a crisp winter morning with 1-2' fun rollers, there was just enough cross shore slop, it would have been hard work.
It's too nice a day for hard work.
