I would be interested to hear from someone who has surfed both these SMIK Longboards..what does the Bonza do better than the Style Lord and vice versa? Is one suited better for more powerful waves or both goes just as well? Thanks.
You might want to throw the hipster twin longboard into that mix. Awesome board, my favourite of the three.
So... how do the three compare?
I've surfed a style lord longboard, a hipster longboard (8'8 custom) and also a Bonza regular. For me the hipster is looser, easier to turn and has a sort of frictionless feel to it. Just feels like zero drag through the fins. I'm a big fan of the smik boards and have been surfing Scott's boards for years (don't know him personally so this is purely based on my experience with his shaping) ... Starboard pocket rocket, nut, hypernuts and now smik. Currently have a latest model spitfire and the hipster longboard. Perfect combo for now but of course I'll want whatever else comes along so probably be selling something so I can try something else. Anyway, of the 3 smik longboards I reckon they'll all be similar off the nose, when you step back the hipster most maneuverable and fun ! It all comes down to personal preference of course and surfing style. The good thing is you can't really go wrong.
