How's the size feeling mate for you now mate
think earlier you said you might consider smaller
do you think the 8'8 would be overkill and corky for my 85kg 6ft intermediate skills ass ??
I think for you it would be too big. Here is an interesting older thread on the same topic
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/What-s-your-ideal-volume-ratio-?page=1If I were you, I would be jumping straight onto the 8.2 and some would argue even that is too big for you.
As for me, I will keep the 8'8" for quite a while because it handles all of the conditions that I encounter on a day-to-day basis and feels like an ultimate weapon to dominate a line up, even if there are long boarders around, who dominate me if I am on the Hypernut.
But I am at the stage where I want to keep "progressing" and my ultimate aim is to start entering local sup surf competitions, if there is an old fart, I mean veteran, division. Hence why I feel like I need to keep challenging myself and go smaller, because the 8.8 is far easier than I thought it would be.
Current internal debate is between an 8.7 Pro or an 8.2 Spice to add to my quiver for the "better" days.
