Does anyone have any feedback on these? Seem to be a good not so flat water fitness /explore board for those who don't want to surf or race. I've suggested these as something to look at (including windsup option) to a couple of newbies but interested in anyone's thoughts on 'em.

Hi, have you seen the older thread?:

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/Starboard-Freeride-or-FR-XL-in-wavesdownwind/

Acoording the specs and the few comments I have seen, I also think it's one of the best crossover boards for lightwind Windsurfing and SUP.
Specially if it is a good pocket downwinder, as the above thread seems to imply.

Anyone can confirm its good downwind aptitudes? Obviously it cannot compete in speed to DW 14 machines, or catching small bumps in downbreezers. I mean good in terms of stability and pearling behaviour in mid/strong conditions, and the overall Fun Factor.

Thanks!

I'd also look closely at the hobie 12'4 x 30 Venture series. They are similar .

Hi Hawaiiheke,
I had a Freeride that I really enjoyed and I think it would be perfect for your requirements. This was the first time I ever used a GoPro:
