Kieranr and Ali Cat, I think you're right that the board is some kind of All Star. Good eye in spotting the drain holes Ali Cat - makes sense that it's likely a modified production All Star.
I forgot how big the nose was on some models of the 2013 All Star. It looks like a totally different board compared to my 2013 All Star in the 14x25 size.
Ali Cat, how do/did you like the 2013 12'6"x25 All Star? It seems Starboard was trying to create a hybrid of the Ace and All Star with the big nose of the Ace and the squared off tail of the All Star but with a lot of thickness in the tail like the Ace.
It was a great Allround board, easy to pick up bumps downwind or catching waves and the wider tail gave it good stability in and out of the surf. The deck took me a little bit to get used to (coming off a 2012 BOP) as when you move back to the tail, you almost feel like you're stepping up at the same time but after getting used to the board I didn't notice this anymore.
Overall, I found it performed very well in most conditions, but although I love downwinding on my 14' Ace, my personal preference for a 12'6" is a flat deck that feels more like a surf board, so although I liked the board, I never really loved it...
So I replaced it with a 2014 Turtle Bay which suited me perfectly when many others prefer the lower deck of the Allstar
