Yes Seb,10.3 kg becomes well over 11 kg with there tolerances of + or - 5% ! I had a 2024 starboard longboard well over 10 % of stated weight on there website. I refused to take the board, the shop could not believe the weight as well. Warning ...weight the board before purchase.I have had conversations with overseas supper's and there starboard sups are mostly lighter, makes me wonder if Oz is getting the boards that o/S reject ,being a small market place , just a thought ?
No arguments from me. I do not know how much the board will actually weigh in real life. I still have my old Starboard Wedge 10'2" in the "limited" construction. It's similar size to this Spice 10'3" but more litres and weighs more - I cannot look up the exact weight since I see that they've reduced the range dramatically and it looks like the Spice is the range they are pushing now, but I think it was quoted as mid 11 kgs. It's ok to carry, but you certainly know that you are carrying it.
I have my own concerns about Starboard construction. I've had 4 Starboard boards now all in different constructions. Both the Starlite and the Limited constructions developed quite a lot of brown spots under the glass within months of purchase. The blue carbon Spice has done the same, but to a lesser extent. I never bothered with warranty and I have no idea what's caused this. The only Starboard that hasn't done this is my Pro in the carbon sandwich construction. Not trying to dunk on the brand since I've enjoyed all my Starboards, but I am slowly replacing them with Infinity.
