Interestingly the 7'4 shows an update from 3.9" to 3.8" too but both show the same volume. Wonder if the board has a refined shape or if the specs are being updated to more accurately reflect the board? Perhaps it has to do with the new Carbon Balsa finish versus the previous Carbon Sandwich...

I think it's more the shape, anyway, on Saturday I'm going to take my HN and i will ask the distributor what is the reason.

Yep, and could you also please ask if the 7'2" HN has changed at all, apart from having more constructions options :)

18 x 27 inflatable Allstar, flat water unlimited with the new stringer tech. A bit niche/fringe but...interesting.

Nothing has changed, the thickness is the same 3.8", probably SB have a mistake in the 2017 catalogue and website. Just got the HN 8'6 and it's amazing.

Sweet! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on the board--great choice! Looked further at the catalog. Starboard has made great advancements with inflatables and in making SUP more ecofriendly. Glad that a major manufacturer has made this a priority!

And triple wow on pushing the iSup arena. There's the double I-beam stringer for stiffness. And the Airline cable stringer which I will claim to have thought of first. And a whole wolf pack of All Star inflatables including an 18' x 27". Wow, wow, wow.

With regards to the 2018 Hypernuts there are no changes in shape from the 2017 models, the only difference is the addition of the 9'6 x 31.5.

Any difference in the widths is a correction on a misprint from last year or an adjustment to more accurately reflect specs.
2018 Widths (catalogue now being correct):
9'6 x 31.5" = 3.8"
9'0 x 31.5" = 3.9"
8'6 x 31.5" = 3.8"
8'0 x 31.5" = 4.1"
7'8 x 30.0" = 3.8"
7'4 x 30.0" = 3.8"
7'2 x 28.0" = 4.0"

In the catalogue boards with a Red flag next to the size in the dimensions box are boards that are new or have undergone changes in 2018.

I see the pocket rocket has lost the rounded pin in favour of a squash tail?!
Amso note some of the pro boards are coming out with smaller centre fins ie 120 vs 140 that mine came with

i didn't really read WHY the balsa is in the carbon builds is better. does it make it softer for more flex/more snap? or is it lighter weight?? i noted they did not publish the weights
