Hi All, trying to decide on a board to replace my JL Destroyer.(160L)
the Smik twin pin 8-10" is very appealing and I hear it is stable . I already have the Smik hipster 10' swallow.an awesome board amazingly stable.

SO.is 145 litres dropping too far from the hipster? I should add I'm nearly 72 years old, 97kgs , 188cm, been SUPing for years but I
find myself kneeling a lot .when it's bumpy, strong offshore, etc.

So will the 8-10 float me okay at my weight, age, etc factors? Anyone similar experience?

PS.destroyer an amazing performance board but wobbly to stand on!

I have a 9.0 hipster wing pin longboard shape myself wich is 132 l, I'm 185 , 93 kg and 62 years, this board is nice stable and fast as wel.
I tryed the 8.3 hipster wich looked to small, but I found it very stable as wel, slower to paddle but it floates me.
So the 8.10 would float you, and yes they are stable, maybe looking at the 9.0 hipster longboard, its an amazing board

The volume will float you no problem.

If you're kneeling on the Destroyer - and are wanting the Hipster - go the 9'3. At 33" wide it'll give you a lot more stability. Unless you are surfing hollower waves, the swallow is a better option. The pin version gives more as the waves get bigger / steeper. It is also a little less stable as it has more rocker.

The 8'10 in either version of the hipster will be less stable than the 9'3 Destroyer IMO.

Wow! It surfs as if it was specifically designed as a Twin fin!!! Amazing in tiny waves, then yesterday I rode the 8'8 Ghost as a Twin on some shoulder high surf and it was stunning!

I tried to find a brand on them, but theres nothing I could find.
Just a cheap pair I probably bought off AliExpress years ago when I saw a bunch of interesting fins at a low price.
They are good quality, so I scored!

The Kanga, twin + small one. Love it

I use the stock fins on my wing pin, the fins that came with the Spitfire are thruster with the middle fin slight bigger as the side fins.
Like to play arround with fins depanding on the conditions, switch from original to C Drive to this set up to loosen up the tail.

I am 100kg and had the 8"10 smik and it was super easy. i also have a custom 9"2 x 32 hipster for sale which again is a very easy board to ride. I found the standard 9"3 x 33 to wide and now selling the 9"2 x 32 for a custom 9"2 x 31

What weight are your hipsters?

I'm interested in an 8ft or 8'3 (preferably carbon), but i cant see what weight they are in the specs on the smik website

@salmonpincher i have the 8' and 8'3 Hipsters both swallowtail not sure of weight but both perfect... because you can throw them round a wave like nothing else (I'm 81kg).
