Boys from wss hooked me up with a new smik spitfire for my Bali trip. Absolutely stoked best board I've ridden.

this board eats it up in every way.

Hey steve, riding the 8"2 x107l I'm 100kg
surprised with how easy it is to paddle and balance on considering my size to volume ratio. Definitely a work out! The way this thing turns and generates speed is insane. Currently trying to drop some kg so I can drop to the 710 and push my surfing a bit more. Back to Bali in 6 weeks! Yew

They sure are amazing boards. I have the 8'8 love in in pretty much any conditions.
Once you drop it into a decent section and feel it take off.... it comes alive like no other SUP I've ridden.

Mate the rails work beautifully, yes you can drive down the line without fear of slip or bounce, they are sharp in the tail and tucked up front. It all just seems to work nicely with the concave, I've had my board for 2 months and had it in 2ft crap to head and half perfection, it excels in it all ( for me ) very happy.
I'm 5'10, 80kg and 62yr

I've been waiting for more reviews on this since I got mine about 6 months ago and wondered if anyone else had brought one haha.
It's been my go to board for basically conditions the last 6 months now.
it's a really nice overall shape that I find can make work in most conditions with confidence. Love the added tail rocker, vee, paddle speed up front. new construction is significantly lighter than the old one. I'm not sure it's as strong, but rides well.
Im only 70kg on the 8'2 but still had it out on some pretty hollow days where surfers were getting full stand up barrelled and it held on

Very happy with my 8'2 Spitfire. I'm only 73kg but decided to go for the 8'2 for a bit more volume as it's often a bit bumpy where I surf.

I'm only an intermediate but find it really balanced, easy to paddle into a wave and it turns beautifully. I was considering a longboard as a 2nd board for smaller conditions but find the Spitfire works great in a range of conditions.

The only issue is the pilot onboard the spitfire but I'm trying hard to improve.

Have you played around with different fin combos yet?

Just using the supplied fins and moving the back fin around for different conditions. I find they work really well.

They have a heap of Hold and drive. Did you notice much moving the back fin around?

I also tried bigger sides and a smaller centre which loosened it up a bit. Ran quads last time too which was different again, quite fast and still a little playful

yep agreed the hold and drive are great! yes did notice the difference with moving it around. prefer it slightly back from the centre especially for when it's bigger for me.
