The size of these runners looks as fitting well the Bonza system, well done! are they larger size than the usual one set on a shortboard?

Kami. A couple of pics of my 7' 2" Bonza Egg. The centre fin is a 7" for reference. They appear to be similar. Hard to tell from these shots.

How does a 'bonzer' center fin differ from other center fins?

Great looking board but I'm worried that the centre pole, while adding to stability, might create too much drag.

The centre pole will do no drag at all , it will provide drive enhances by the leverage of the runners making the all Bonza flying and holding.

BigMc, Nice fins set up, very proportional to each other fins, thank you for those nice pics.

Sorry mate, we're just having a bit of a laugh. I mean the centre pole, not the centre fin. Lost in translation. Have another look at the photo.

Pretty similar to surfboard size
Big MC
You mean in words or pics.
They do handle juice surprisingly good for such an area pin.
But the reason i'm loving the bonza is speed creation
squirt ins a straight line and acceleration through a turn. (whilst not being a tight turn like the twinny.)
It's just a different sensation.
And they definitely give a lot of speed in marginal conditions due to the flat rocker through the deep double concave.
Your egg looked like it had the same things going on with deep double big Mc
Would you agree with the sensations described??
cheers

FinsUp - how good are the Bonza's sounding?
Area pin, speed creation in a straight line, and acceleration through turns.
Might be time to get Scotty on the blower??

Well Scotty I am ashamed to say that after having this board shaped I have only used it a couple of times in onshore slop and at the time was on my SUP (Spitfire was one of my boards) a lot. I am getting older and heavier and seem to be on 9'6" or 10' longboards and feel my Bonzer might be too advanced now. Your Bonzer would be nice to replace the Spitfire. I have a Hypernut as well which you worked on back in the day. Love the acceleration. Had a Spitfire briefly (too small) and loved it's lively feel. You have the vision.

Yep. 9'5. Stoked. Its a gazzillion times more fun than the old waterlogged Halo. Unfortunately can't give you any more comparison than that. All i know so far is that its gets into our fattish waves easily enough and is bloody quick when it wants to be, so hang on! And, well for me anyway coming off a 10'6 allrounder, it turns very easily.
Thanks to all you gurus for your collective wisdom I've learned heaps as a lurker, and thanks to Scotty for a magic job well done
Stoked.
Btw I'm about 6ft 85kg And find it pretty stable, even in onshore Timor Sea slop with toothy logs poking around the lineup giving everyone the heebygeebies.

Did I mention Stoked

Any reports on these boards? Saw a 8'4 x 30 pop up and had me curious how they compare to the hipsters?

I have a custom 10 x 32 Bonza arriving very soon. Can't wait! The hipster and stylelord are two of my favourite boards and I am sure the Bonza will be the same.

I had the 7'10 Hipster and the 8'8 Bonza and they are nothing like each other.

Hipster is a fun, loose and snappy surfing sup mainly for small to medium waves. The Bonza I found was a slower paddler as there is quite alot of fin action going on under the water.

It was great on bigger waves and on steep take-offs and was really fast down the line but turning needed a longer drawn out turn compared to the Hipster ( once again totally different shapes and performances). Didn't turn as fast IMO.

Demo one you might like it
