G'day fellow water addicts. I have been using the Shapers SQ V2 fins as a thruster set up in my 6"2" short board for over 12 months now and really like them. They are really drivey and fast but have nice release and even some drift if you give them some on the back foot.

Any way recently I bought a JP Widebody 8"2'. As expected the plastic fins supplied were just dull and lifeless, so I orders the V2's in a quad set.

Well the improvement has been massive. Today I finally got them in some fun long head high long walls today. It has given the widebody more drive and way more speed and on some reo's the fins even drifted a bit.

I have never seen anybody else using these so thought it was worth giving you guys the heads up on these unreal fins.

I don't have any ties with shapers and pay their "as advertised price online". The quad set was delivered to my door for $129

Cheers Bender

Hey Bender great post and very timely too. Just got a SB WP 8"2" and it has some large plastic fins too, M7 and M5. They seem reasonable but can't help but think some decent and smaller hexcores would be better for speed and turning at the expense of a bit of glide, tracking and maybe drive, which I think this board can trade off. Looking at Shapers SQ5s. I'm 82kegs and believe the sq5s would be about right. But you've piqued interest in these v2 babies. How much do you weigh?

Used these fins about 4 yrs ago on a 10'6 board.

Really loosened it up , almost too much but made it such a fun board cause of the upright shape.

Changing fins is bulk fun when it improves your board.

Not sure if they make them with future bases.

Unfortunately it seems you can't get the v2s here and Supgearaustralia doesn't ship to NZ, so back to drawing board.

Cheers man, but Tryfan flicked some v2s across to us in NZ so all good. Took them out for a blast in the weekend after being out for a month with a pinged hammy. Proved to be a bit greedy with the early return as I pinged it again on my third wave. Lesson learned. Looking forward to giving the v2s a good workout in a month or two. Did wonder about the c drives but thought they might be a big boys fin.
