Sorry have now posted this in general sup
Disclaimer I love sup.
I built a Kaholo 14 as an exersise in plywood framed hull/epoxy/carbon whatever as a prelude to my next project a plywood mini transat 650 cruising version.
My mate and I are water fiends I think I may pass as a waterman. Mainly wind powered. have sailed since not long after I could walk and have surfed windsurfed, kitesurfed, my garage is full boards, hulls sails kites I have 2 dinghys 1 small stink boat and a 25 ft sailing boat and my 2 kids are getting into it so more crap. Its all I think about.
And now an SUP.
My mate is in Reunion Is in our winter so we talk crap via email this was our convo after my kaholo 14 first cupla runs this weekend:

To Bruce:
> Wind resistance becomes apparent when on the paddle board. I think sup man will be foil shaped maybe pivoting from the hips and the foil shaped dood would become a solid sail and paddle would become smaller and only an auxiliary.
> He would become sail boat man. Like humanoid windsurfer. The paddle would eventually become some type of nub a bit like our tailbone.
> He would become quite large to Accommodate sponsors stickers and would be the VOR (volvo around the world race) boat man thing.
> Feck Darwin this craps much better.

Bruces reply:
VOR boat man then has the lead fall off his appendage....starts to foil close to the air/water interface then evetually breaks free of liquid restraints.
Next he breaks free of requiring atmosphere and travels space surfing interstella gravity waves. yes feck darwin.
