just got my third surf with this new toy...we are in love! I am 1.77, 87kg and was scared of jumping on a 100l board. I am glad I did. This board is extremely stable, paddles well but catches waves better than my 8'6 128l. It has a perfect balanced volume distribution with a very comfortable flat deck.
so far I rode it in decent surf, first day 3' clean and fun, board felt easy, fast and turny. More than anything I was happy I wasn't falling all over the place as I thought I would. Second surf, 4 to 5' hollow waves, more water moving around But no issues with stability. On the wave was amazing, I was taking off late and deep and the board never felt out of place, super fast, loose when I wanted to be and stable and secure when I needed. It was one of the best sessions I had on a sup, it was the closet feel to a short board.
i haven't tried it yet in average mushy waves, if the board likes them I do not see the need of keeping my 8'6.

this is my second quatro sup, I really like my 8'6" but this is on a different league. The 8'6" is more technical and you definitely need to find the sweet spot, the evolution is unreal, this board feels great anywhere you are standing, when you stand forward it is fast and secure and when you engage the tail rocker it is extremely loose. I still don't know the range, but from to 2' to 5' works perfect and I have no doubt that would be comfortable in bigger surf.

i think anyone looking for an amazing user friendly wave board should try this one. The only negative I could think of are the stock plastic fcs2 fins. I replaced them after my first surf and the board felt even better.

Nice report Bolocom. I have seen a Quatro board once & it looked good! Your Quatro sounds similar in performance to my Sunova Soul 8ft 3" 110 litres. But I weighed around the 78 kg mark when I put it to the test. The Quatro sounds quite impressive at its 100 litre volume. Sounds like the ideal dimensions for a SUP for the shortboard feel for around our body weights. That also gives the stand still stability for reasonably comfortable surf sessions. I have no doubt the Quatro would perform well in mushy surf also.
I am interested in their shape & rocker profiles.
I will have to check them out.

Been riding these for a few months now in NZ .... every single person who's demo'd them has been impressed.

Started off on the 8'4" and it was awesome! Stable, light, VERY strong, fast and you can really throw it around. Loads of drive off the bottom and great projection up the face.... off the top its something really special. 2 sessions on it and I decided to sell my other boards.

The I jumped on the 8'0..... same as above but the volume it turned upto 12. This is a proper surfboard and makes the 8"4 feel massive when you jump back on it.
The 8'0 is now my 100% go to board, it handles big and small surf but does prefer a slightly faster wave. My dream quiver would be this and a carbon 10' longboard style SUP for goofing around on.

Had one session where the prone surfers were giving me a**holes for being on the water, after a while they went in for a cuppa and a pie (was one of those all day sessions, glassy and head +1/2 faces). When they came back out they had completely different atitude, another guy overheard them saying that they couldnt believe how well the SUP fulla was surfing, actually make it look good..... let the surfing talk. Tick one up for the SUP crew.

So yeah I give full credit to the 8'0 for making it happen. Loose, and fast letting you get in deep as you want, do what ever you want.... no holding you back.

Most boards today are pretty good, there are some lemons tho and then there are some complete stunners..... I reckon the 8'0 Carve is firmly in the latter.

Yes Double O I agree, the more I surf it the more I like it...I tried a few different brands (fanatic, sunova, naish) they were all pretty good but I think this is one magic board! What fin set up are you using? I didnt like the stock plastic fins that came with the board.

I've got the 8'4 carve and its pretty sweet at 89kg and 178cm - its a one board solution no matter what the wind or chop is doing - I tried some KR carbo tune LE thruster fins in it - then went back to the plastic Quads - I actually prefer the plastic quads but rarely ever get tp surf it in anything over head high / 2-3 foot -

I wish I'd had the chance to demo the 8'0 now

Update, had a few more surfs in larger surf and choppy, windy fat average surf. I was sure it was going to go great in larger surf but to my surprise the board went really well in full choppy conditions...I am amazed how stable this board is. I went out because I didnt have another board with me and was sure i would be mostly swimming. Sure it was hard work but doable, it would have been hard work on my bigger board as well...but again once on the wave it feels like a short board, fast and loose even in mushy surf so all worth it.

just using the stock fins. seem plenty good to me and havent had any issues, if there was it would most likely be user error not the gear ;)
