I was hoping someone could share their review/ thoughts on experiences with pro vex fusion 9 x 30.

I am am looking for something nonwide than 30' to increase DTL speed and performance

Nice board, I'm 80kg 5'6" beginer to intermediate surfer and fell off a lot on this size board. I would go with 9'6 on wave count.

I got the 8'0" and in clean morning beach breaks it goes sick

Awesome board!! Whenever you change to a new board it always takes a few sessions to get it wired, especially going doing in width.
What is your weight sup monkey as that will divide on the length (within reason). Good solid construction mate.
I have a 8' vex and I'm 93kgs and it is hard work to paddle but does it go!!! Great performance wave riding sup but I use it on glassy, hollow days. I also put some fin boxes in it and now giving foiling a go. Best of both worlds for me!!

Started on a 9'2 carbon evoke and now on a 8'10 sunova flow.

Flow or is a great board but was thinking of something slightly more narrow.

Had a go on a mates 9'6 vex a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with how it went on the wave. Had zero issues with balance.

YT04, would you recommend I go the 9 or the 8'6?

Monkey, I just checked sunova site and you current flow has the same volume as a 9' vex. If you're doing that easy and confident with it you could drop down 8litres of float to the 8'6 vex, but it's your decision mate. I can't really compare the difference 6" would make in length in performance cause if you get your back foot back on the tail they'll both turn no worries at all.

i,m 6,3 and 92 kgs and have a 9 ft vex and a 10 ft vex for small stuff but i really love the 9 footer however i do question there durabilty. Great boards surf well but at the end of the day you get what you pay for [ this is not a criticism just a fact ].

In what way DKR do you question the durability? If you have dramas give the company a call. Mine is 2 years old and still looks like brand new and I use all my boards pretty hard. I also have a carbon evoke which is an awesome board, takes big hits and still in excellent condition. It's my second carbon and I had a bamboo one too. It developed a problem and one call to the store and it was replaced under warranty where I upgraded to my first carbon. Can't complain about that.

One of my best mates blew over twice the dollars for a nice yellow board that he treasured and it still delaminated. Took him 4 months of nagging and fighting to get it replaced where I had no dramas.
I reckon the Atlantis and waterborn boards are just as good and sometimes better quality than other brands, over half the price and quality service to boot.

Also, I'm not involved with the company in any way except for being an extremely happy returning customer.

I second yt04's comments.
Infact they weigh a bit more for a carbon because strength and durability are a high priority.
I have had an Evoke which I sold after weekly use over a year and it looked new. I have a 12 ft venom which is hard to manage out of water . I have banged the tail on rocks, walls etc especially on windy days and feared the worst. Beside some minor scratches no problems.
They are built to last. If anything they weigh too much but you accept that for the extra durability

I have had a carbon evoke for about 2 and a half years. Treat it like rubbish and it is still going strong.

Im not concerned about quality or durability. I was interested in anyone's feedback regarding the performance of the 8'6 and or 9 foot vex

Brilliant boards - i've got the 8'6 and its brilliant on glassy days and turns on a dime (i'm 5'8 & 65kg) - choppy/windy days its hard work. A friend who is about 90Kg and smashes it on his 9'0 carbon vex couldn't stand on the 8'6 in the flat water. I've ridden both the 8'6 and 9'0 and there is a big difference in stability for some reason. Can't fault the 9'0 for all round performance and ease in catching waves and having fun

Why not consider the 8'8 Mano..? I've had a 9'6 Vex, now a 7'11 evoke, and just about to order the 9'2 Mano. Agree with yt04 on quality spent $599 on the evoke surfing 4 times a week and it still looks great...??

Why don't you try the 8,7 flow great board smaller still 30 inches and much lighter , I agree get on the tail and any board will turn hard . Don't go to small it's not worth it unless your riding glass reef breaks

Haydo, 9 foot vex 8'7 flow . Less length may impact ability to catch wave easier ? That said need to compare nose kick. From memory Flow nose kick is fairly flat so effective difference in length may be less than 5 inches
