Loved it! That board is on rollers, freaking a lot of fun on those clean runners. And what a beat on the crowd getting the early!
And what a crowd. I see we use the same tactic, wait slightly underneath and scoop up the misses.
Thanks J, early is empty because of the Great Whites.... people believe that it is safer at 8am than Sunrise. I'm ok with that

Normally I am a set surfer.... not a wave count surfer. I want quality, not quantity, so I sit outside on a line-up spot that will catch the bigger sets.
When it gets crowded, I let them have the sets and take the inside slot, to stay away from the madness

Nice vid Mr Creek, enjoyed the footage and was surprised at how well the placid performed in such little swell. I thought with the extra rocker and large nose area the placid would be a bit of a dog in small waves... is this the got to board now??? Or are yous till on the Kanga???
Im loving the 9' casey revolution which has become the go to in the quiver...
Thanks Dave... I intentionally select weaker waves for some of the video, to show exactly how well the Placid surfs even at a low volume.
My 8'10 at 135 L puts my "Guild factor" at 1.26 which is fairly low... and yet it easily surfs weak and un-breaking sections.
My Go-To board(s)
I seriously don't have a favorite... they are
all very good boards and every one one speaks to me, when the conditions fit.
9'6 Kanga cuz we have a skillion Great Whites and the Kanga surfs amazingly well for such a big, stable board
(I am ordering a 9'0 to compare how it rides in a smaller size)
8'10 Placid cuz it's easy stability and fun in everything
8'11 SP25 when I want stability and more speed/performance.
12' Point Break when it's small and funky
9'0 Casey Flow 2.0 when it's clean, because I find it way more work than the 8'10 Placid.... and I don't want to be in the water a lot around here.
9'2 Wedge is coming back in the mix... it is such a good board, but the highly technical aspect of it is always a challenge.
Fastest board I have ever surfed! I'd love to try the 8'8 for clean days.
It makes me surf better because the shape demands it.... it is totally frustrating if I put in a weak effort.
9'4 Creek is always in the van, but I have so much footage of it, it rarely gets the call.
Here's the "active" quiver that lives in my van all the time... this SUPster ordered a 9'6 Kanga after comparing my fleet.
