Hey Steve - I got a Ke Nalu xTuf (superseded logo model) direct from Ke Nalu Australia for ~$300 just before Xmas. Not sure if they've still got the sale on but may be worth a look. I had a Naish Makani (adjustable) before that which was also a great paddle but I wanted a fixed paddle and the xTuf is perfect for me so far. One thing I'd recommend is NOT to skimp on a paddle - get the best you can afford. It makes a world of difference if you're not resenting a heavy paddle on every stroke!

Check out auswind.com.au.
They are selling off superseded Starboard paddles at cheap prices.

+1 for the KeNalu. Later on you can mix and match blades, shafts and handles to upgrade or create different paddles for different use and length.
