Hi guys,
Need a bit of info regarding blade size, as I'm in the market for a new paddle and have read in this forum and elsewhere that too large a paddle blade can induce joint injury on shoulder/elbows etc.
I'm 5'10" tall, 90 kg and 40 years old. I'm currently surfing a Starboard 8'10" Widepoint but still have an entry level aluminium shaft adjustable paddle.
I'm keen on the Starboard Enduro Wave paddle, which has a blade area of 600 square cm. Is this too large for surf only use noting my height/weight. Any insight into this would be much appreciated.

Regards
Brad

Compared to what you have it will be brilliant.

Demo as many as you can if you want to look wider.

I use a Kialoa Methane. Most of my riding is in the surf. I think it's great.

I have a C4 - carbon fibre 8.5".
It's a cracker, make sure you get paddle guard for your new paddle.
