There have been a few requests for a review of this board from someone who actually owns one, has spent some time on it (and is not sponsored).

Chris is one of the few who have spent some time on one and he has just sent me this review and has offered to chat with anyone who is genuinely interested in knowing more about the board.

If you would like to chat with Chris, I can forward his details on to you.

Hi Andrew
Love the new 9'3 ripper from the first time I saw it.
The first thing I noticed straight away was how stable the 9'3 is, bearing in mind I have been riding a 10'er for a year now. The 9'3 is equally stable but is so much lighter and more manageable in the surf. The light weight enables me to paddle onto waves easier and the front nose shape allows me to drop into anything without catching a rail. The board is also deceptively fast down the line any without the weight you can drive it up to speed like a short surfboard.
I was going to add a handle but due to size and weight I wont need one. The outer shell seems very tough as well and not marking at all even after bumps into the car that would have damaged my other boards.
Anyone who wants to here how good these boards are just have them call me or email me.
Thanks again Andrew I'm stoked more than any of the 100 or so boards which includes surfboards I have purchased over the years.
Cheers
Chris Hohnke.

Thats my board, took it to crescent head over the weekend and had a blast.I still cant get over how easy this board is to ride. Its more stable than some 11FTers Ive ridden in the past,it really is.Catches waves like a dream then holds the rail or is so loose to chuck around.I havnt let anyone else ride it yet as its still my baby.
I was skeptical about all good the stuff I had read about these 9'3 rippers, but I was wrong it rips.
Had to give a heap of waves away to the longboarders to keep em happy, it was worth it though.

Ok, Ok!
For the skeptics - no, Chris is not paid, or bribed - he paid full RR for his board and is happy to chat about it.

Cheers

I'm glad you're happy with your one of only a couple of 9'3" Rippers to come into the country, Snappy!

Sounds great. Lucky bugger.

Should've been mine!

Unfortunately only a handful of RIPPERS came in last December and they were all pre-booked.
The next shipment arrives mid March 2009 and there will be plenty to choose from-
9'3, 9'6 wide, 9'8 and 9'10 Rippers.

Here is the man himself, Ikaika Kalama ripping it up on his 9'3 Paddle Surf Hawaii Ripper-

Enjoy!
