anchorpoint said..Guys,
Just had a nice, zero wind , glassy, 4 to 5 feet point break sunset , and i took my old sunova speed 8.10...believed stupidly it would be smaller....im in love with this board (always was..) ! i mean i know new models came out in every brands , different shapes etc...but this shape is something else...timeless...it works quite well anywhere, anyhow..not the best shape to do rentries because of the wide nose but can make some serious turns the pointy noses would be proud of, can challenge a longboard on early waves...its a swiss knife....! It keep trajectories on steep walls...Sorry...coudnt keep the joy to myself!

The speed is not just another tomo style shape IMHO...it has something else (not a shaper so wont try)
Another one is as crasy as it sounds with its wide nose this board can handle some serious late take offs and somehow make it...i know i will always have a speed in my garage, a small to medium speed is an ideal travel board...can even be used for flat touring and will handle itself in any serious wave out there...i have other boards from 7.5' to 12' conditions related, but the speed is a real classic for me...Let me dare say a one board quiver if needed ( god forbid!)
Couldn't agree more Anchor!
I have had my 8'10" for 3 years surfing in 1ft slop to over head+ and it catches everything just fine, a true allrounder.....
Another plus is when paddling it tracks straight with 4-5 strokes each side before changing.
I also use it for 6-7km training paddles because it tracks so straight.
Took it to the Maldives and surfed a few super fast waves like Kandooma right, Tucky Joes, Foxys, F1, and the speeed it generated to make the sections was incredible! I was getting lots of comments from the prone surfers saying that thing is incredible!
To loosen it up I have a 2+1 setup with stock 94 fins on the side and M2 nubster in the centre.
It's also as tough as nails as I found out on one occasion when my mate didn't tie it on the roof racks properly and it flew off at 80 km/h landing tail first on the road (inside the board cover luckily) and only sustained minor tail damage.
Definitely a keeper!
