I'm currently using a Starboard Hero (9' and 146 litres) as a jack of all trades - flatwater / windsurf with the family and small surf for myself. I've got no plans to sell it but would like a smaller board for the surf.
I'm 70kgs and would like advice on how small I should go. I've ridden the 130 litre Allwave but I think that would be too big after 5 minutes.
Is something in the 115 litre range too small? Any recommendations?
thanks

I ride a 9ft McT (130litres) & use it for everything (ie waves/flat water /waterman training). I'm 76kg. Was in Bali & used a JL Kwad (8'7 & 115 litres) without any problems. I believe that if you want to surf, get something that will - with practise I am sure you will master the balance while paddling.

at 70kgs you could easily go down to 115l, if not lower, volume is just a rough guide depending on design etc, just pick a whole lotta boards that you like and try and demo them until you find a keeper, or you can go see a shaper and tell him what you want, good luck
