Hi All,
I just recently dinged my Fanatic Pro Wave 8'2" so badly I am now up for a new board. Basically, I have creased the nose, cracked the glass all the way around the rails and so whilst repairable, I am afraid it may never surf like it used to. I really like the way the pro wave surfs and it is stable etc for my size 65-70kg / 180cm. However, there are those days that I would love more glide from my daily ride. I have the option of looking at an 8'10" Sunova Creek or a newer 8'8" Pro Wave. I also like the look of the JP's but they are really hard to come by where I live. I also have a 9'0 Stylemaster so I don't need something like that as I am not a fan of the mal style nose on SUPs as it makes paddling through the whitewash that much harder for me.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A bit off-topic (since you are looking for a bigger board anyways), but It should be repairable.
Properly done, a repair should not add significant weight.
Plus the possible change of flex characteristics is not important up there.

On your board choice, I cannot help, never tried them.

I would encourage you to talk to Scott Mckercher (SMIK ) I recently got a custom spitfire 7'10" coming off a starboard pro 8', great boards and cheaper than most of the other big names

I'd go custom with Smik or Sunova.
Mid length style board, up to 8'6" and not too wide as you are 65-70kg and don't need it - narrower width will give more glide as well as a slightly flatter rocker.
A nice stretched out Smik Hipster Twin or Spitfire mid length would be sweet.

I had a Creek for several years a great board. But like you, I wanted a little more glide. The Creek has a lot of nose rocker and hence the glide is not great. Enter the SP 25. Flat rocker with a ton of nose flip. Surfs better than the Creek in all but OH conditions. The Glide iS GREAT!

Thaks for the response and advice everyone. It has kind of confirmed my thoughts about an 8'10" Creek being too big at 130ltrs I think. I'll repair the F Prowave anyway and look into other possiblities around 8'6".
